I have a user that is Outlook 2000 on a Windows NT workstation at one location and Outlook 2002 on a Windows XP at another location. He has configured Outlook 2002 to retain e-mail messages on the server and configured Outlook 2000 to delete messages from the server.
When he is working on the Outlook 2002 machine he will receive same e-mail multiple times during the course of the day, this problem just started happening after an upgrade to XP operating system and Outlook 2002. Has anyone ever experienced this problem before?

Thanks for any assistance

I think that if the OL2002 user accesses the server after leaving messages on the server he may be "downloading" the messages each time he accesses the server.

If he is deleting the message and getting it again he may want to set the option to Remove from server when deleted from deleted items. If you found this helpful let us know by voting below.

hi,

rjkrash is right, if you dont want to receive the same email again you should uncheck leave a copy of messages on server so that every time you POP your mails using outlook your mails from your mail server is deleted and no occurrence of the same email will be POP the next time.

Regards,
