I have a problem. I had to reburn my pc. I did copy all my files, including Outlook using the "export" command to a .pst file. When I try to "import" it back to the reburned pc, it gives me the error message "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use". Anyone got an idea???

OE5 has a proprietary binary format that makes archiving
individual messages difficult. In addition, a number of
people have indicated that their message folders have
become corrupted and OE can not read them. Consequently,
they have lost all the messages in that folder.

DBXtract.exe extracts all mail and news messages from
individual dbx files. After extracting the messages one
can drag them from a Windows Explorer folder into an Outlook
Express mail folder.

HI.

Make sure that the PST file isn't marked for "Read Only" by simply right click and "properties" in Windows Explorer.

Try to access the PST in other way, like "File-Open" or "Tools - Services" in Outlook 2000 if you have problems with "File - Import".

Are you working in "Internet Mail Only" or "Corporate" mode in Outlook 2000?

Did you already add the respective services back (Exchange server, Personal folder, etc...)in before you import the .pst file? joegz

I'm running "internet mail only" for Outlook. I'm not sure what you mean joegz about adding the respective services back. I did reload Outlook 2000 (actually, all of MS Office 2000 Professional) before attempting to import back in the .pst file.
