All of my user, (stubbornly) are coverting their outlook express email application to Outlook 2000. The biggest complaint/question I have received has been if Outlook 2000 can do the autocomplete when you begin typing an EMAIL address. When using outlook express as soon as you start typing the EMAIL address, it will auto complete to the closest address in you book and you continue typing the address till you get the right name. In Outlook 2000 I have not been able to find out how or if you have this option. Anyone know? Thanks for any help.

Outlook 2000 has a check names feature and not the auto complete feature like OE. But is the Outlook install for Corporate Workgroup or for Internet Mail Only? joegz

Our email is outsourced, so we are using POP3. Guess that would be considered internet.

Yeah, you have to tab to the next field and wait a few seconds (depending on how many addresses Outlook has to cycle through). The address will fill in underlined if it finds a "single" match. If multiple results are found, it will underline your entry with a red squiggly line.

Depending on the type of setup you have, you can specify which address list Outlook will check first. Go to Tools->Services->Addressing tab and you'll see the option to specify whether to search the Global Address List, Contacts, or Personal Address Book (if you have one) first.

cdogg pretty much gave you the information you need but if you would like others to see it as well you can refer them to the link

As you can read here autocomplete was not included until Outlook 2002. joegz
