Outlook 2000 won't print HTML images? 1

Ok guys, this one has me stumped.

We're running various platforms here, Win98, NT4.0, Win2K. All systems are running Office 2000. Some have SR-1 installed, some don't. Some have IE 5, others have IE 5.5

On most of our machines, Outlook 2000 won't print the embedded images from an HTML newsletter. The placeholders show up, but the images themselves won't print, except on a couple of machines.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern with what system will print the images and what won't.

The one that does is Win2K, Office 2K, and IE 5.
Win98 with Office 2K and IE5 won't print.
WinNT4.0 with Office 2K SR-1 and IE 5.5 won't print.
One box with Office XP will print.
Other combinations won't print either.

All are using the same printer, so that's likely not the problem.

Does anyone have ANY clue what might be going on here? I've searched and searched for an option in Outlook for something like this, but as far as I can see, there isn't one.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Knutsaq.

I'd try setting IE5 to print page background and images, but be careful, this would affect all HTML printing including those pages on a black backgound (oops there goes another empty ink cartridge)

French,

I tried that, and the only difference it makes is that it then prints the background colours and images. What a pain.

I'll find an answer eventually, but this is a tricky one.

Knut.

Perhaps it would help to send the newsletter as an attachment instead of an HTML message. (assuming it's an internal newsletter) That way outlook would naturally call IE to open and printing would not be an issue.

Just a thought.
Good Luck
