is there a way to setup outlook 2000 so that it is possible to send an email to both internal and external contacts at the same time? at the moment it will try to send the email all from the one server (the external one) and therefore have problems reaching the internal server.

we have an internal pop3 server

I don't really get your question.
You can send to 50 people at the same time if you want.
Where you send it from does not matter.
So, I guess you are having another problem, so be more specific please.

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Marc,
here is an example
i have an email that i want to send to two people. one person has a regular email jim@somewhere.com.au and one has an internal email jo@mycompany.local. In outlook i have two internet emails setup. one for my local server and one for my external server. ideally i'd like the local server to handle the jo's email and my regular mail account to handle jim's. in other words... jim would recieve a message from me@mycompany.com and jo would recieve a message from me.mycompany.local.

does this clear things up?

-adrian

yes that does clear it up, and the answer is simply.
You will need to send 2 messages, no way around that unless you want to go into some very very complicated Server level programing.

Off-topic:
Nothing personal, but I think you must have some bizar reason to want to do that, but lately, nothing really surprises me anymore.
I wonder why these days people cannot use a product like it was meant to be used.
