Hi

When I received a email in my inbox in Outlook 2000, they sometimes arrive with the wrong date displayed in the Received Field.

This can be a bit weird if you have your mail sorted by date in descending order and "older" mssages arrive and imbed themselves a few rows down! - I recently had one that was dated 2001 and inserted itself a few pages down!

My question is: where does this date information come from, is it the senders email client or server, or is it the receiving mail server?

Regards

Graham

It's more than likely a problem with the time on the senders mail.....Once your time settings are correct there is nothing you can do about it!! Jay~

So it definitely originates from the sender - not the receiving mail server?

I sometimes 'supposadly' get mails that were sent 2 years ago and the likes...usually spammers mail etc.
What you can do is send a mail to yourself through the server, and then when you receive it, check your Sent field and Received for the times, once they are OK, then you are in the clear, and it definitely originates from the sender. Jay~
