Hi Guys,

Is there an "autocomplete" feature for Outlook 2000? We are running Exchange 2000. For example, say I e-mail john@yahoo.com. The next time I open up Outlook and try to e-mail john, when I type "jo.."..it should autocomplete and give me john@yahoo.com, so I don't have to type the whole thing. This is similar to using autocomplete in internet explorer. The president of our company said he had this setup at his previous job. Please advise.

Thanks!

I am pretty sure that is only a feature if using Outlook XP, which does have autocomplete. In Outlook 2K the best I think you can get is to start typing the address then hit check name, under tools.

Good luck...

It doesn't 'autocomplete'quite the same way as OE or Outlook XP, but it does 'check names'. The recipient needs to be in your contact list. Then, in the To: field start typing the name - like in your example, jo

At some point you will see a red squiggly line under the partially typed name (usually after 3 characters or so). This is as much of the name as you need to type. Type the rest of your message and hit the send button. Outlook will open a new window asking you to clarify the recipient. Just choose the correct one and you're done.
