Outlook 2000 on Windows XP with Exchange server 5.5

I have a problem and wonder if anyone knows how I can fix it. We have runnign Exchange 5.5 and office 2000 which on windows 2000 and win98 has been fine. But now we all have windows XP pro with SP2 on our work stations and a problem is starting to circulate on all machines bar two.

When an email is sent to someone that person does not get the message until they click somewhere on outlook then it appears?

seems like some kind of active window fault.

please can someone help with this?
