Outlook 2000 - no auto name display

Previously when I have gone to type someones email address into the To: section it uses the auto fill feature to estimate who I am trying to send the email to.

this no longer happens. i have played in tools > options and can't seem to see a check box that manages this feature.

how do i turn it on so that it auto fills an email address as i start to typre it?

Outlook 2000 does not AutoComplete the way OE & more recent versions of Outlook do. It will however suggest names when sending if the typed name is not uniquely recognizeable. There are several other discussions in this forum with more in-depth descriptions of this behaivor.
