Hi All,

I have a user that is runnign Outlook 2000 on an XP machine.

All of a sudden, their new incoming e-mails are not showing up automatically in their mailbox. The user has to click on an old message in the inbox, and then the new messages are showing up.

It is almost like a refresh problem.

I have checked all the settings and reconfigured the mail services, but to no avail.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,

Mike

We had this problem recently, but ours was because we had put SP2 on Windows XP and didnt open up outlook on the firewall. Does this computer have SP2? If so add it to the allowable programs list for the firewall or with group policy:
%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office\outlook.exe:*:enabled:Microsoft Outlook

Hope this helps some.

Hi rye8261,

Yes, the user just recently updated to SP2.

Thanks for the tip. I will try it out.
