I am using Outlook 2000 configure to use POP3, I get the following error message when clicking on the send/recieve button:

"message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. Server response: '550 relaying is prohibited'. (Account:''10.x.x.x', SMTP Server: '10.x.x.x', Error Number: 0x800ccc79)"

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thomas

Contact your ISP and find out what they require in order for you to relay
outgoing mail through their host. If they require Authenticated SMTP,
download the new WinPMail v3.12, which supports authenticated SMTP.

It may be that you simply need to adjust your POP3 hostname and the "Use
From: field to form SMTP envelope" option to overcome the problem,
especially if you're using a different From: e-mail address than the domain
name of the ISP.

Another issue I have come across, particularly with 'Free' e mail providers, is that they won't relay mail unless their own dial up connection is used - it's a real nuisance if you convert to Broadband.
