I am customizing a Contact form in Outlook 2000 and getting a curious response when I attempt to place a textbox control on the form and link it to any one of the pre-defined email fields (Email 1, Email 2 or Email 3).
After I link the textbox control to an email field it is no longer visible on the form in design mode or in when running the form. I have checked the enabled and visible properties and they are set to "true" so I am baffled.
Here is the procedure I'm following.
1)Open the contact form in design mode
2)Delete the existing email textbox and select list contols.
3)Add a new textbox, naming it txtHomeEmail
4) Right click on the txtHomeEmail textbox and choose Properties.
5) In the Properties dialog box, choose the Value tab.
6) Click the "Choose Field" command button and select "Email 1" from the Frequently Used Fields list.
When I return to the form the txtHomeEmail control has the select handles but appears to be disabled in some way and is no longer visible or usable when the form runs.
I have tried deleting the control and starting over on the chance it is a corrupt control, but without success. ...and if I go back into the Properties for the control and set the Value to another field such as a phone number, all is fine.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here? Thanks. ---------------------------------
