Hello
Does anyone know what steps you have to take to configure Outlook2000 to pull mail from a web based pop acct (yahoo, hotmail etc).It was very easy to do in Outlook Express but having trouble with OUTLOOK 2000

If you know the incoming and outgoing server name you can just click on Outlook properties and select add new e-mail account and fill in the appropriate information. You do not have to do this in Outlook Express for hotmail, or yahoo.

Outlook 2000 installs two different ways: Internet Mail Only (IMO) and Corporate Workgroup (CW) see the following articles at MS for details:

OL2000: What Setup Option Should I Choose When I Install Outlook
OL2000: Switching from One Installation Type to Another
OL2000: (IMO) Switch from IMO to CW Does Not Transfer Account

Outlook 2002(XP) doesn't have this restriction it supports several types of mail services.

If pro is the opposite of con, what's the opposite of Congress?

You can't do it to Hotmail with Outlook, only Outlook Express. Seems nuts, doesn't it? They're both Micro$oft products after all :-(

Apparently Outlook XP/2002 can do it, though.

Yahoo mail allows you to foward to another address, however. Glenn
