Outlook 2000 - Exporting Public Folder Contacts

I recently set up a public folder to house all the contacts of a small workgroup. I now need to export the contacts into excel for manipulation. Using the File/Import and Export menu command wizard, I am not able to select the public folder as a data source for export. A workaround might be to copy all the contacts into a personal folder but this is unwieldy.

Any suggestions?
