I upgraded from Windows 98 and Office 2000 Professional to Windows 2000 and Office 2000 Premium. Whenever I click on the Outlook icon, I get a message stating that I upgraded from Win 95 or 98 and Outlook must be reconfigured. I attempted to follow the prompts (tried detect and repair, tried reinstalling Outlook2000, etc) but continue to get the error message. Funny thing is, if I click Ok on the first message, Cancel when it asks for the Office 2000 Professional (no less) disk and OK when it says to try the detect and repair, Outlook opens right up and I have mail!

So, how does one get rid of the error messages?

I had a similar problem and was only able to fix it by completely uninstalling Office 2K Std and installing Office 2K Pre in its place. Sure this is kind of a hassle, but it usually only takes 10-15 minutes to complete - then it works. Hope it helps!
