I seem to have a problem with outlook when I am receiving E-Mails, the envelope that appears in the task bar does not disappear. After a days worth of retrieving E-Mails I can sometimes be left with up to 8 Envelope Icons in the task bar.

I know the envelope is used to indicate new unopened mail but even when I read all mail items the envelope(s) still remain.

Anyone have any suggestions??

This won't be a very helpful reply, since I don't really know how to fix it. But it is clearly incorrect behavior, since no matter how many unread e-mails you have, only one envelope should appear in the system tray. The default answer is, of course, reinstall Outlook.

:)

Another option would be to change your alerts for new mail to not include the envelop in System Tray alert. Then restart Outlook and re-select that option if you like. That may work bfore you reinstall Outlook.

I'm not sure where that option is because I don't have Outlook at work, but I would imagine it is under Preferences.
