Hi everyone: I have a customer with the following problem. Whenever one clicks on A URL link in a message sent with Outlook 2000 they get an error that the the link cannot be opened because of restrictions set on the PC; contact administrator.

So far I have checked site restrictions in Internet Explorer (6 SP1), tested by switching of Norton Internet Security, reinstalled Internet Explorer, uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000, including Outlook, installed all latest patches to Outlook, checked the file associations in Windows, still the same. The customer is logged in as an administrator.

Any ideas?

If the person copies and pastes the link into internet explorer does it work?

Yes Kippy; it works absolutely fine with a cut'npaste.

OK. I found out the solution to this myself. An "in-place" installation of Windows 2000; re-patching and everything worked fine.
