Hi,

We are changing our mail server from Exchange 2003 to a LINUX mail server using POP or IMAP.

The main thing I know that has to be changed with Outlook is changing from workgroup to internet mail mode.

Can someone just assure me that although the mail mode is being changed, Outlook will still have its Tools-Services so that I can add Personal Folders (.pst) into it ?

We currently have Outlook setup to view PST files as all mail downloads into them, none is kept on the server at all.

You really don't need to change Outlook to IMO mode. Under Services, just add and internet mail service and remove your exchange service. If you change to IMO mode, you will lose the 'services' function.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, indeed what you are saying is what we will do.

I was getting confused. I knew that you cannot have 2 simuntaneous connections to an IMAP/POP server and Exchange at the same time within Workgroup mode.

But seeing as we are moving away from the Exchange Server the client will not have any need to have an entry for it in Services anyway.
