Hi there,
One of my users is having real trouble with outlook. Our network went down this morning causing all the PC's to crash. This one user had outlook open and when he restarted it won't open his .pst file.
The .pst is stored on a shared drive on the server, and when he opens outlook he gets a message saying "Can't open Personal Folder file" with the options to create a new .pst file or open an existing one. We have selected open an existing one and browsed to the location, but then we get an error saying "the file D:\mailbox.pst cannot be accessed as it in use. Please close all mail-enabled aplications and try again" (that's paraphrased). No other programs are running on the PC.
We have tried restoring the file from last night's backup. The file restored OK, but the same problem occured.
It seems that the PC thinks the file is in use, but this info isn't coming from the file itself. Any ideas?
The box is running Windows 98 and Office 2000.
Cheers
James
