Hello

I have been receiving a Microsoft Outlook 2000 error message
when trying to move email from my Exchange 5.5 mail box to my .pst file. I've noticed that this happens more with emails that have attachments. For example, if I select one email with an attachment and move it to my .pst folder, I receive the following message:

Can't move the items. The item could not be moved. It was either already moved or deleted, or access was denied.

Now, sometimes this will move without an error, but mostly
it will generate the above message. If I continue to try
to move it, eventually after about 2 or more times, it will
successfully move. But why?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your Exchnage email antivirus. It scans the email before you move it if it doesn't detect that it was already scanned with current signature files.

So, if the email has an attachment and hasn't been opened since the last AV update then when you go to move it the email is scanned again which may cause a timeout before the move is complete.

To prove or disprove this is what is happening to you, open and close an older email with an attachment before moving it and see if you have the same problem.

Cheers.
