hello,

a user has a problem.
if he want to open an excel-attchment an explorer window opens with the system32 folder.

if I try to save it on the desktop: Windows says: " you dont have enough rights or access is denied."

Windows 2000
Office 2000 prm -sr1

help is wanted

Thanks in advance

So, you are on a network with Exchange server? A little more detailed info would help.

It sounds like the Excel software is not registering completely, so the PC is looking for an executable or pointer DLL in System32, but that's a guess.

As far as having rights, that is a function of Active Directory in a domain. This also occurs when Office has been installed under a USER profile instead of the local Administrator profile. I see this a lot in our domain at work.
