Outlook 2000 and Microsoft Mail Server

I was recently brought on board with an organization that is still using WorkGroup Post Office (WGPO) for their internal "mail server". I have a VERY limited budget & can get a copy of MS Mail Server (3.5) for cheap. Anyone know of any issues with using Outlook 2K on Mail Server? (I've worked extensively with Exchange 5>.
