Hello everyone

I get some frequent notifications on my inbox about updates and such, and they are getting to be too much to move by hand. So I created a rule in outlook, saying if msg is from "updates" , mark it as read and move to folder X.

The rule works great except for one thing, the yellow envelope on the windows taskbar is still there saying I have new unopened items. I do not want to disable the envelope as I find it useful to see at a glance if I have new email.

Does anyone know of a workaround? I am using Outlook03 in a Exchange03 environment.

Thanks in advance.

Hi kopja,

There is a place in the rules where you can have the specific e-mail marked as "read". I think that would take care of having the yellow envelope in your toolbar from coming up.

I am already doing that, the rule is marking the email as "Read", but the yellow envelope still comes up. It only goes away if a new msg (a msg not affected by the rule) comes up, and I read that new message.
