Is there an easy way to outline a picture with a border?

Basically i have about 40 pictures in my manual I am creating and the editor wants all the pictures to have a border around them for a more finished look. Is there any easy way to edit the picture and just outline it with a 2 pixel border? or do i have to manually draw the lines around each one...

Thanks in advance for the suggestions...

Why don't you make a frame in InDesign of Quark (or whatever you're using to lay out the manual)? Much easier in the long run.

If not, you could use the marque tool then go to edit/stroke and put your frame options in there.

Forgive my ignorance but how would i make a frame in indesign?

Basically you select the box into which you've placed your picture, then go to the strokes palette and pick a stroke weight. Go to the colours or swatches palette to select a colour for it. If you've got multiple boxes selected you can apply the strokes and colours for them all in one go instead of having to do it for each one.

In the strokes palette you can choose whether your stroke sits inside, one the centre line or outside the box.

Hope that's helpful.

Yes very helpful, thank you very much.

That was the hard way too lol. I would just using marquee tool make a squar reverse selection click delete then add effects to make rounded borders shit like that. either way works though.

have a good one folks.
