Outlines to fills

How do I convert outlines to fills? I bet it's not as easy as with Flash, as with everythinelse in Illustrator.

Oh, yes it is....

Select the outline(or stroke)
then select Object>Path>Outline Stroke

Easy as pie!

I'd gladly pay you on Thursday
for a hamburger today!
