I have a few placed illustrator files into a 40 page project, is there any way that I can outline all the fonts of these placed files without going to each file individually and outline it there in illustrator.
No sorry. However you can automate the outline process like I did which is to create an action in Illustrator. I'll run through thte steps for whoever wnats them.
Open the file that needs the outlines.
Go to the Window menu at the top and in it select Actions.
In the resulting palette, click the New button (lloks like a square with a corner folded over)
This will pop up a dialog called New Action. Enter a name such as "Convert to Outline" and assign the Function Key setting to F1 ( I think that one is clear of any assignments.) and hit OK.
It should be recording now so do these steps carefully so you don't have to redo them.
Click on your black pointer tool in the tool bar first thing and then go to the Select menu at the top. In there choose the Object submenu and in that list choose the Text Objects. All your text is now selected.
Now go to the Text menu at the top bar and in it choose the Create Outlines selection. All fonts are converted.
Go to the Actions palette and hit the Stop button before you do ANYTHING else or that will be recorded too. Even saves. The Stop button is the one directly to the left of the red record button.
Now when ever you need to convert them, open the file, hit F1 and it will be done. Then Cntl+S(pc)Apple+S(Mac) to save the file and Cntl+W(PC)Apple+W(Mac) to close it and Cntl+O(PC)Apple+O(Mac) to open the next. Using these shortcut combos you can get through it pretty fast.
