I have Windows XP Pro and outlook express 6 setup to send/receive email through internet email account through the lan.

When sending emails with attachments out, outlook express reports that some errors occurred. However, when you look in the error dialogue box, it is blank just warnings in the status field. No error is displayed.

In addition to this, the outgoing message remains in the outbox instead of going to sent items. However, the intended recipient does receive the email. Not only this, the recipient gets another copy of the email every time outlook express send/receives as the message is still in the outbox.

I can manually remove the message from the outbox, but it will not go to sent items of it's own accord.

Sending emails without attachments are fine, no problem !

I have disabled Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security……no change !

I am really puzzled with this. Can anyone help please?

That is weird, try moving your .dbx files to another location, and the next time you open outlook express, new ones will be created. If that doesn't help, delete the new ones, and move the originals back to where they were.

Sometimes these files get corrupted, and strange things happen.

Matt,
thank you so much for your suggestion.
I moved all .dbx files to a different location.
Opened Outlook Express and no problems sending an email with attachments.
However, I did not wanted to lose all my information's. So, I restored one file at the time and found the "Sent Items.dbx" file the foully one.
Created a new folder called "Sent Items Old" and copied all information to this new folder.
Then quit Outlook Express, deleted the "Sent Items.dbx" file and started OE again.
Now I still have my information's and OE is working as it supposed to be.

Thank you again
Peter

That's what it sounded like. You are welcome.
