Okay, I know this version is archaic, but I promised my boss I would try and troubleshoot this for him. Outlook is still defaulting to fax numbers from the address book when he tries to send a message. (We re-loaded the software a couple of times and it hasn't helped) For instance, when he clicks 'new message' and then selects a name from the address book, the address book only pulls the fax number from the contacts list into the new message. I tried to locate the 'Accounts' screen to see if Symantec fax software was set as default, but was unable to find it.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Linda Gamble

This may sound like a silly question but I have to ask. Is the E-Mail field in the contact form completed with the e-mail address for the contacts? joegz

Yeah --
The email field in the contact form is completed with the email address for the contacts. Any ideas?

Haven't a clue since fax and e-mails should be an automatic. The only reason I can think of is that Outlook does not see the e-mail field in the form or it thinks it is blank.

Perhaps try replacing the frmcache.dat file with a fresh copy (but honestly that is just a guess).

Out of curiosity if you create a contacts subfolder and add that to the Outlook address book do you have the same problem? joegz
