I am not sure this is the right forum since it's called "Antivirus" (and not Norton Internet Security) but I thought I'd try here first.

I have Norton Internet Security 2004 (which includes firewall, antivirus, antispan, and privacy control). For Anti Virus I have disabled scanning outgoing email. However, when I send out emails using Outlook 2002 I get a small popup window from Symantec on the lower right hand corner of my screen that says "Scanning message n of m" where 'n' is the message it is scanning and 'm' is the number of messages that Outlook has just sent.

What does this mean since I have disabled outgoing email scanning for NAV? Can I disable this specific scanning that is popping up since it seems to be getting in the way of some monthly mass mailings we are doing. Thanks!

It seems to be Internet Security as i have had this problem as well. Even when you disable scanning of e-mails it still scans for some reason. I took off the firewall and it worked fine.

cheers
