We currently use Ipswitch's ICS for email here. But I'm interested to know if Exchange is capable of the following (ICS is not):

1. I want to allow all INCOMING emails containing attachments (as long they pass anti-virus scans of course).

2. I want to allow all OUTGOING emails containing attachments to within our own domain.

3. I want to block all or some attachments (based on file types) for OUTGOING emails to external domains for certain users - not all users.

Of course, this is for security reasons as we do not want some of our files being sent out. We do alot of engineering here and protect it as much as we can.

Can Exchange do this? I would think there would be but I've never worked with it. We're a medium sized organization and run MS products everywhere else in the network except for the ICS server.

Your going to have to look into a third party solution. Exchange, out of the box doesn't have global forms.

Thanks for the reply.

I found some third party products that I think will do the job. Currently researching them. If anyone else needs something like this, take a look at the Ironmail appliance and Tumbleweed.
