It's been mentioned that if a DDI is set to the same extn pattern, then with 2.1 the outgoing CLI is set to their DDI number by default.

Now that's very good - but what happens if you have a 50user IPO, and you only want the main number to be displayed? Do you have to do a user short code for each user, or am I completely missing the point!

Cheers.

IPO has always sent a useres DDI by default

If you wich to send a fixed number modify the default short code to specify the CLI by sing the S character in the number field

IN the uk by default:

ShortCode: ?
Number: .S<number>
feature Dial

if some useres than require custom CLI this can be added into the user shortcodes

Thanks for the reply - I've come from a pre-sales background,so really only just come into the real world.

I always assumed it would send the main number, unless you added .s to the user's short codes. That makes sense now, cheers.

I am trying to do this too. I have modified the default shortcode as follows:

Short Code: ?
Telephone Number: .S0870******* (my main line number)
Line Group ID: 0
Feature: Dial
Locale: <blank>

But it won't work. I thought it might be the 0870 number so I changed it to a local number but it still won't work.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try

Short Code: ?
Telephone Number: .s0870******* (my main line number)
Line Group ID: 0
Feature: Dial
Locale: <blank>

Lowercase s

Can you try

Short Code: ?
Telephone Number: .w
Line Group ID: 0
Feature: Dial
Locale: <blank>

Does this withhold cli competly ??

How many digits is the carrier presenting you with, I am not to upto date with UK numbering. Make sure what you wish to send out directly matches the number you are sending you.

If they are presenting you with 10 digits make sure your .sXXXXXXXXXX short code contains 10 digits not 12 or 9.

MRIPO is currently shooting at the stars *****

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I have tried a lowercase S but this makes no difference.

I have tried .w and this DOES withhold the number.

Over to you IP Guru !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It must be something (Local) UK related

Also try a LCR entry of

Keep the system as

?
.
0
Dial

and create a lcr SC of

?
.sXXXX
0
Dial

See if it works

Also maybe default the switch to factory and edit just the System Short, possably something else stuffing it in the config, this will prove the config is OK or not.

I have tried the LCR entry but this did not help.

It must be to do with the number of digits presented, I have 6. The main number has 11.

Back to the drawing board. Thanks anyway.

1) you can only send a cli that is valid for the circuit, this is why you cannot send your 0870 number (this can be setup but requires negotiation with BT & the 0870 povider etc.)

2) I have had a couple of site where personalised CLI was not being accepted by BT (using S<Tel Number>) This is a bt config issue but can be dificult to fix:-

Eng: Out bOund CLI is not working.
BT : That needs to be configured on the Switch.
Eng : It IS - You are Ignoring it!

(Repeat steps 2 & 3 Untill someone finaly corrects the setup!)

You can always run Monitor to prove to your self that you are sending CLI. Then you will know if it you or telco stepping on it

Sorry to all outside the UK as the last post is very much UK specific!!

Thanks to everyone for their help.
