I have a customer who has an 8x24 DR5, he is doing a boiler room applications and wants a way to do the following:

1. Service Observing (Monitoring Calls)
2. Reports (How many outgoing calls in a day/Talk Time)
3. Call Recording while Service Observing

I was looking into NAM but it doesnt seem to do all that is needed.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Is the 8x24 a DS model? Does it have any type of voicemail on it currently?

I think the least expensive way to do this will be an upgrade to a MICS with 6.1 software for the monitoring, Call Pilot for the call recording and a call accounting package for the reports, (unless SMDR to a printer would be sufficient.) You can't monitor through an 824 and I believe you need Call Pilot for Call Recording.

It has a crappy startalk mini on it at the moment.

Can I use the feature 989 call recording while I'm doing a service observe on the MICS 6.1?

Thanks!

I don’t think you can record while doing a silent monitor because according to the docs:
Attempting to initiate any feature keys on the supervisor
set, while a session is active, will terminate the silent
monitoring session.

Nortstar’s silent monitor is very restrictive in what it actually alllows. I can also tell you that using call pilot record will always send out a “this call is being recorded” announcement that you cannot defeat. You are probably better off going with a call center (call pilot or cintech ACD) type setup, though I am not familiar enough with those to comment on recording abilities.

there is a unit that can tap into Norstar station pairs and allow a supervisor/manager to service observe individual stations. it can be permanately tapped onto a particular station or set up a bank of rj-11 jacks and move the monitor cord around as needed. see:
NT DIGITAL OPTION MANAGER™

the NT digital option manager is between 1/3 and 1/2 way down page.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.

Radio Shack carries a device that will plug into your handset cord. You can attach a recorder to this device. I also use it to load CCR recordings from a CD or Laptop.

I have a NorStar 7316e with Call Pilot 150. I need to monitor and record stations for quality assurance. As I attempt to do so, a half ring notifies the extension I am monitoring. Also, a notification is indicated on that extension when I attempt to record. This defeats the whole purpose of "SILENT monitoring." Any real pros out there that help?

Thank you,

Kristine

per the above thread: Your system is not designed to do what you want. There are aftermarket solutions available.
