Outgoing Business Name

Working with a Nortel MICS release 6.0, would like to block the company name on outgoing calls. Their local area provider says they cant help them. Any and all help is useful. Thanks.

If you have no need for the company name in the mics (multi Mics network) then just remove the company name from programming.

or are you refering to the name that the telco applies? in that case you can have the telco change the Listed Name, not the bill to name.

If you're using POTS, there is a dtmf sequence that will block outbound clid- I've only had to use it once at a site, but I think it was *67.

I programmed an external autodial on each set- "9P*67", and labeled it pool. Seemed to work for them.

*67 will show up on caller id as unknown or private call pending on what area your in but that costs the cust. everytime it's being used. I find it hard to believe that the lec can't take care of this minor issue.

I just want to verify that you have a PRI, that or BRI are the only times that you send something out for outgoing line identifier (the send side of caller id)

if you are using a pri you can set the OLI (outgoing line identification) to something along the lines of 0123456789 and it will not display the number but as far as the company name make sure you check in system programming for the buisness name and make sure it is blank if both of these are set this way then your provider is the only other one to block the outgoing name.
