This is sort of a continuation of thread766-1361242, but with a different direction.

I am using CR XI against an Access 2003 database. Does anyone know if it is possible to make outer left joins inside CR for the datasources of forms? Is there an issue with the ODBC drivers? Turkbear has been kind enough to offer help for a version of this question that has now led to this one, so I have reposted this as another thread.

I have been unable to make outer left joins inside CR and have them stick for the datasources of forms. I have inherited this database and form, as I said before, but, so far, I have been unable to create any sort of joins short of inner joins. Any help would be appreciated.

Left joins work in Crystal against an Access database.

Crystal doesn't have forms, so presumably you mean Access forms?

If the datasource is within Crystal, anAccess form has nothing todowith it, unless you're tryingtosay that you'recalling CR from an Access form...

In which case why would you use Crystal to create the data source? Create a query in Access to do so and base the report on the query, faster and simpler to maintain.

Hi,

I'm creating reports in Crystal Reports XI. I think I figured this out, but I had to set the tables one at a time in a completely blank report then make the links manually between the tables from the MS Access datasource. Queries proved to be way too big for this application. So, for now this is working. Fingers crossed.
