I have a pretty simple setup: 3 CO lines assigned to calling group 790 and calling grp 790 has an overflow to calling group 770 for voicemail. Ext 18-23 are members of calling group 770 for voicemail. Everything works great and after the 20 second delay calls overflow to auto attendent.

My problem is that I have outcalling configured on one of my mailboxes and I have set ext 22 and 23 to Unrestricted and have set auto line select to SA for intercom. With this configuration outcalling does not work. When I assign my 3 lines (801, 802 and 803) to extensions 22 and 23, however, outcalling works but my overflow configuration does not. All calls ring once and go to Auto Attendent. How can I get outcalling to work along with my overflow config?

Thanks!
Chris

22 & 23 need to have TRUNK TO TRUNK TRANSFER PERMISSION.

Also, double check their ARS Restriction as well.

In fact, just print them out so we will know.

I forgot about that. Trunk to trunk transfer is enabled on 22 & 23. I cannot access ARS Restriction for some reason. When I select it (F6 on SPM I think) nothing happens. Should I be able to access this in Key mode? I will print out ext 22 & 23 configs in the morning.

Well, you answered 1043 and yourself when you said "Key Mode".

I think you need to go ahead and bite the bullet and switch to Hybred PBX.

Key Mode has no ARS Restrict.

That's what I was thinking but I know of people who have this setup working with Key mode so I'm doing everything in my power to get it working before resorting to hybrid mode.

I printed out Ext 22 which is identical to Ext 23. I don't have too much experience with this but does this look alright?

Also, I have read other posts on this subject that say to "MAKE SURE TO REMOVE RINGING" on these outcalling extensions. How do I do that?

Show us the rest of the programming for this guy.

(You know, the buttons and all....)

Are you really in KEY MODE?

This is important to know now.

I am absolutely sure it is in Key Mode. I double checked in WinSPM and at the bottom on the status bar it says Mode: Key also.

If you're in Key mode, you're going to have to assign the lines to the VM ports, then set them to NO ring, then set Auto Line Select to Intercom, Line 1, Line 2, etc.

When the ports go off hook to do things like set MW lites, they are on Intercom. When they outcall (and the outcalling number includes 9 and a pause), they grab a line, wait a moment for dial tone to connect, and then dial the outcalling number. (In PBX mode, you don't need the pause, because the 9 is ARS, not auto line select)

If it is not already set, set your intercom dial tone to "outside". Easily checked by comparing intercom dial tone sound to outside dial tone on lines, they should sound the same. But I think TTT nailed it with the auto line select being intercom then the lines. If you don't add the lines to your autoselect, it won't work.

I have auto line select set up that way but when I assign the lines to the VM ports, all incoming calls are answered immediately. My overflow value is ignored. The only thing I did not set was the "no ring" option. I can't find that anywhere. Where is that value and what is its purpose?

If you assign lines to the voice mail ports, but DON'T set them to No Ring, those ports just try and answer whatever is ringing at them. When you set them to no ring, and set the ALS, the lines are there available for outcalling, but calls are sent in through the filter of the calling groups and overflows.

In SPM, go to Centralized Programming, pull up each VM port, click on ANY line, then dial *345 to set them to No Ring.

That was it! I have 2 other questions but I will create a new topic since they are unrelated. Thank you! I have been trying to get this working for 2 weeks now. I even called Avaya and had them remote in and they could not get it to work. They told me the hard drive in the MLM was probably fried. That made absolutely no sense!
