Hello, has anyone ever tried outcalling to a Nextel Phone. Nextel has a numeric paging message gateway but I have not been able to get the string right. We currently outcall to a numeric pager with no problems. I have it set up currently as 9*233XXXX******0002330000#9999# with 233XXXX being the gateway phone number, 0002330000 being the phone to send the message to and 9999 being the numeric message. We are using Partner Mail VS R5, Thanks

Should be do-able. I send pages to my Verizon cell phone all the time to indicate that VM has been received. Get a butt-set and monitor the line as the VM does the outcalling. You will find out if you need to add or delete pauses to get the timing right.

Sometimes, you start dialing before Nextel is ready to accept your digits; sometimes you wait too long and they get tired and hang up on you. Sometimes, it takes one ring for the gateway to answer, and sometimes it takes three rings. Not much you can do there, except to use the other outcalling slots for alternate dialing patterns, and maybe one of them will hit OK. But it could take some time after the message arrives before the page comes through.
