Customer wants to have Auto Att dial an 800 # automatically when a certain selector code (ex = 1) is pushed. Has centrex. Dials out but call will not complete. Any ideas?
Thanks

Explain what "Dials out but does not complete" means.

You have built a selector code for centrex transfer in the automated attendant.

When the caller selects the code, the vmail hookflashes the centrex line, gaining secondary dialtone on the line.

The vmail then outputs the 800 number and flashes to release.

Does your centrex service allow out-of-group transfers?
Are you including an extra 9 to get out of centrex?
Is the 3 way call being made but never releases?
Is the caller being returned to the vmail as an aborted transfer or being hung up on?
Can the caller hear the transfer tones as the vmail dials?

I just had an installation that was using a selector code to Centrex transfer to another office. It was working great, then all of a sudden, calls would not complete. Monitoring the line with a butt-set revealed that the Partner Messaging would disconnect BEFORE the call to the outside number completed. Adding a PAUSE (* when programming the outside number) made it work right again. Maybe they changed LD carriers? Don't know.

So, monitor the line with a butt-set and see what is happening. If you need to add pauses at the end of the number, don't add too many; the person at the far end might answer and only hear silence until the PM releases.

Get a busy signal but other end is not busy - not a fast busy. Checking to be sure Centrex allows out of group transfer. Tried with 9 and without. Caller get busy signal. Customer does not want to hear transfer tones. All responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Just as a side note, are you sure the Centrex access code is 9?
