I followed the instructions for forward a call from voice to an external number on my system (v4.0) and it works great.

I have a remote facility that I tried to implement this feature and it doesn't work. We keep getting a function not available message. Is there something that's not turned on? Here are my instructions that I'm using:

If you want the call to go into the mailbox and then as curlycord says, have them say, to be transferred to my cell press 7, then you can certainly do that.

To CHANGE your outdial number

From your phone with the handset down in the cradle
Press FEATURE 981
PSWD: Enter your mailbox password
The screen will show:

0 new 0 saved
PLAY RECORD QUIT

On Your dial pad press 8 8
Your screen will show:

Transfer Dest:
(it will show the current number that is set up)
CHNG NEXT

Press CHNG
Screen will show:

Destination:
PHONE EXT

Press Phone to have the call go to an outside phone number. Press Ext if you want the call to do to an inside Extension.

Screen will show:

Ph:
RETRY OK

Using your dial pad dial the phone number you want the call to go to. IE., 555-1212. Dial it exactly as you would from your phone. Do NOT include access codes like 9.
Press OK when finished.

Screen will show:
5551212
ADD OK
Press OK

Screen will show:
Transfer: on
CHNG QUIT

You can hang up now.

Feature 983, Log in 1020000 ok
Press MBOX
Press CHNG
Enter the maibox number
Hit next until you see
Outdial: None
PRess Pool
Dial 1 if using pool A, then ok, Accept: 1, press ok.
Dial 2 if using pool B, then ok, Accept: 1, press ok.

If your remote facility has a Startalk Flash (you have a NAM) then you will be unable to do this.
Startalk Flash does not have the ability to forward a call in your mailbox to an outside number, only the NAM has this feature.

Another issue I have is some extensions do not give me the option to xfer to phone. They only let me xfr to another internal extension. Is there a setting that I must change so it will give me both internal and external xfers?

Thanks,

Out of a mailbox? Externally those instructions are above...
The outdial route has to be set up first before you can give it a number. MRoberts

Yes, on certain extensions while in their mailbox, I don't get the option to xfer to a phone. It only gives me the ext option. I've tried this on 4 extensions, two allow me to xfer to a phone. The others don't. Is there a setting on the phone that I need to change?

Thanks,

What happens on those two that don't allow you to do the outdialing? When and where is it saying not allowed? MRoberts

I can get into their mailbox, press the 8 8 and get into the Outbound Xfer option. I select admin and it asks for the xfer destination which only allows me to put in an extension. It doesn't give me an option to select phone.

Have you gone into Feature 983 and given the mailbox an outdial route?
Feature 983, Log in 1020000 ok
Press MBOX
Press CHNG
Enter the maibox number
Hit next until you see
Outdial: None
PRess Pool
Dial 1 if using pool A, then ok, Accept: 1, press ok.

This has to be done first!
