Hi everyone! It's been a while since I have been here. Hope you all are well.

I have a customer running multiple PRIs from two different carriers. He is using Lines 1,2,5,6 for the PRI connections. All outgoing channels are using 0 (zero). 9N uses the standard ARS:50 which is using outgoing line group 0.

My question is, how does the IP Office select which PRI/Channel to use? Is there an ascending Channel/Line preference, or match?

I am asking because it seems like the first 10 channels are being used in Line 6, but then it hops to Line 5 and starts using channels there.

Thanks, and look forward to your replies.

On PRI's typically it will use the lower half for inbound and the upper half for outbound but it is a choice under the Line tab. Channel allocation 23>1 or 1>23. It may be a provider thing that it will reject any new outbound on line 6 at 10 calls and the IPO will use the next avaialble which is on 5. But you would have to watch monitor to verify that.

Yea, it's odd. Ch 23-14 show they were used 3 minutes ago, but for channel 13 it has been 95 days...

I have seen that a lot. If the PRI didn't get completly full both in and out bound at the same time the middle channels will be seriously idle.

I have seen that as well, but this is a very busy clinic. I am having the customer reach out to the carriers to see if there are any issues.

Thanks for the replies!
