Hi guys,

I'm having trouble with a mail server. the server is an NT4 machine with exchange 5.5 sp4.

I cant get the exchange to send mail to an external domain correctly. I think the problem has something to do with IMS's Address space thingy.

i've managed to get it so that it connects to the remote smtp server, and sends the mail, which is accepted by the remote server. the trouble is, the mail never arrives at the target address. Looking through the logs it appears that when the exchange sends the mail, it lists the recipricants address as:

addres@domain.com@smtp.domain.co.uk

is this normal ?? i'm far from an exchange expert so any help would be greatly appreciated!

fyi the smtp server works fine when i use outlook to send email through it.

i'm getting it in the neck from this company as they cant send any external emails!

thanks,

Pete
