Outbound faxing via desktop messaging

unable to send fax via desktop. Is outbound fax coded to port 25 or can port number be changed? IT guy is blocking port 25 due to spam.

You need to have outdial type setup on the mailbox level, or the fax will not go thru.

The UM client uses port 25 (SMTP) to send the fax from the client to the system. It's hardcoded, can't be changed. See if your IT guy can allow an override from a certain application or for SMTP stuff sent to a specific address.
