Outbound dialer issue on Magix 1

I have a client who is using 2 PRI T1's and MarkeTel outbound dialers. Analog ports (using 16 port T/R w/ ring gen) plug into the dialer; there are 8 ports on each dialer. The dialer queues up numbers to call in order, using a street/zip code order. When all 8 ports go off-hook at once, only 2 grab lines and the rest show errors on the dialer side. All 8 ports can make/receive calls when they have s/l phones attached.

So..do you think it is possible for the dial 9 pool to struggle with 8 simultaneous access attempts? Would there be any benefit to having multiple pools and/or assign a couple of trunks to each port on the dialer? I have a total of 3 016 boards, MLM, and 2 800 DID boards (for the purpose of TTR only) so I should have 18 TTR - that should more than cover it from that end.

Any suggestions? Thanks as always.

Yes, you seem to have enough TTR's.

I would suggest testing the dialer ports separately to insure they all work.

Also, there may be some timing settings within the dialers that could be tweaked.

Like Jack said, the first thing I'd do is swap the line cords around and see if the problem follows the dialer ports or the station ports.

Some of the 016TR boards could be slow to give dialtone. This trouble very specifically followed the 617F34 (with the "F" being the signature distinction). Maybe the dialers just need a wait a moment longer before giving up.

It's also true that some devices don't like the Merlin's intercome tone and will report a "no dialtone" error. But that's also a changeable setting.

I would try giving each of the 016 T/R ports immediate access to the pool - without having to dial the 9. Put a pool button on each T/R port and set autolineselect to grab the pool button 1st. See if that helps alleviate the problem.

Tom & Jack - that's what I ended up doing. Also had the dialer software add a # to the end of their dial string so the system would send the call immediately. Reduced their errors for no dial tone to zero. Thanks as always - you're the best. Diana

Glad to see you got it working ,had similar problem, but the ans was to extend the time on the dialer, to wait for 3 sec for dialtone
because when the dialer was turn on it expected dialtone ,the magix was slow
