Hi, I am sure this has been covered a million time here but can you help with the following

I would like to know how set the outbound CLI on a user over a Gamma SIP trunk.

I have tried the .s shortcode we use on ISDN and that isnt correct.

How do I set a user to send their DDI or the main number?

Thank you

There are 2 ways on the system. First ensure CLI flexibility is turned on on the SIP trunk on the gamma portal.

1. Make sure you have a URI on the SIP trunk set as internal data. Give it a unique outgoing ID. Fill in the users SIP tab with the number to be displayed and send calls out over the correct outgoing ID.
2. Make sure you have a *** or Auto URI entry on the SIP trunk. Set a user up with a shortcode that uses the s code - so to display 02074014780 set the dial code as .s02074014780 and send it out over the URI assigned to the *** or auto line.

@Pepp77 or a third way. on the SIP trunk create a separate line enter the number you want to present in
Local URI
Contact
Display name
PAI

Then set the incoming Group the same as the rest but set the outgoing over a separate line i.e 203.

Then create an ARS that has N; dials N over line 203
Then create a shortcode that forces the call out via the ARS.

But always make sure cli flexibility is on first.

Manie3 - but then if you have 200 users all wanting to display their DDIs you would need 200 URIs!!!!!

Pepp77 But if you have 100 people wanting to present a number and another 100 that want to present another it will save time programming the sip details on each user.

Thank you all :) I will give it a go and let you know, I only have four on this one at the moment :)

Hi struggling a little with the above and wondered if you can refresh my mind on outbound CLI, I need to send a general CLI out over the SIP,

I've created a URI with a unique outbound group ID, set them to use internal data and done the SIP user form and I have CLI flexibility settings on and I still cant push out the another CLI.

I would really like to do it with the .s shortcode if someone has an example?

The .s doesn't work with SIP.
You have been told how to do it, so keep at it until you figure out where you went wrong :)

Thanks, there are three options which one do you recommend?

Actually the .s shortcode does work with SIP, it depends on how you configure your SIP URIs.

Thats what someone said earlier, I have CLI flexibility turned on, I have an ARS with N; dial N routing out over line ID 18 which is a URI with internal data switched on and I have the SIP tab programmed in the user form, still no CLI arrrggghh :)

I found a little issue, I was testing to a Colt SIP trunk from a gamma one and always seeing the MBN, once I called my mobile then I could see that the URI was working fine, any ideas why Colt would strip off the CLI or if there is a setting I need to change to ensure it continues with the correct CLI?

If you wanna use .s for CLI you need to have a SIP URI with all fields set to Auto.

Internal Data will always pick the information from the Users SIP tab.

whichever one is most appropriate to your requirements

For personal CLI i would usually go with the users sip tab but for generic main numbers I would go with separate outgoing URI's, each usage case is different & there is no one "Correct" solution

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear.

This is a network interconnect issue, the overlaid CLI is not always passed between networks, sometimes you will not see any number other times you see the MBN. Some mobile voicemail servers do something similar, you are told the CLI of the number leaving the message but when you choose "call back" the MBN is used.

But if it is happening on every call to a UK supplier, report it to Gamma, then give them examples and get them to fix. They should be able to get it resolved on UK calls, but not on international calls.

Had the same issue recently with calls to 3 Mobile.

Pepp, this has been an issue with mobile carriers for at least 8 years, happens with calls from ISDN as well as SIP. Reported it so many times I've lost count.

Every time it's so painful just getting what's happening through to the provider, never mind to the mobile carrier who you have no relationship with... It'll never be fixed :)

ive had this issue for years mate.

its an issue with carriers not carrying the cli over.

spoke to a bloke who built his own sip pbx who said he leaves all leading zeros and country codes off and its sorted it (not sure if i believe him but you could try it.)

so instead of +441740XXXXXX or 00441740XXXXX just do 1740XXXXXX

ive logged tickets and complained till im blue ion the face..Good luck!
