I have an ISDN-PRI installed and outbound calls are not transmitting caller id. THe vendor tries to keep arguing with me that it is the carrier. I tell him he needs to enter the number to send in the system. Avaya Magix. Can anyone tell me where the programming is in this so I can tell my vendor. He is not very trained yet. I have these systems with PRI elsewhere and there never has been an issue.

It is programmed in the Magix under PRI programming. You can program "Number to Send" for each line - however, the T1/PRI provider has to be able to utilize it. They can also program it at their end.

The carrier usually has a default for the trunks already...so your vendor is accurate in that regard. Read thread689-1202402.

However, what you say is also true. The Number To Send parameters in the Magix will be sent on the D-Channel and effectively syncronize/overwrite what's in the LIDBE database. Just follow the menus that tdaugirdas has indicated.

You can also check out thread689-1186316 and thread689-1166696 among others on this topic.

It is called the "L I D B" database.

That is an acronym for Line Information Database. If I recall correctly, it is maintained by Bellcore/Telcordia.

The name is added to the CID from the end office where the call terminates. The switch does a lookup in LIDB then adds it to the CID data stream, that in turn is sent to the subscriber between the 1st and 2nd ring on analogue lines. On PRI and BRI it is sent as part of the incoming call setup message on the D channel.

This is a quote from the past!
