Outbound Call Routing

I was wondering what the process would be to set up a Magix so that certain users could dial 8 to access a specific group channels on a T1, and others could continue to use 9 to access the other group of channels. I have a customer who needs o split their T1 into separate trunk groups in order to send different CLID info. I am going to have the provider set up the trunk groups to send diffent CLID. Thanks for the help!

I've done this via FRL's before and kept dial 9 for both companies by doing the following: Set company 1's extensions to frl restriction to 2 (more restricted) and company 2's extensions leave at frl 3 (standard). Then set the lines you want in line pool 70 for frl 3 (these will be used by company 2), set-up line pool 890 to need frl of 2 (these will be used by company 1). For your ARS, set 890 first, then 70 as the second option.

If someone from company 1 calls out using 9 (these extensions have an frl 2), it would grab line group 890's lines and call out. If someone from company 2 calls out using 9 (they have standard frl of 3) it will skip over pool 890 (which has frl of 2 restriction) and grab from pool 70 to dial out.

That way, everyone can use dial 9 and the system will route the call accordingly.

Renumber everything that starts with an 8 to something else, like 6 (so line 801 becomes 601). Once that is done, renumber a pool to 8. Put the T1 channels in this pool, and give the extensions Pool Dial Out Code access to pool 8.

9 still goes out its current route, 8 routes over the channels that the telco will be sending the different CID on.

Thanks for the information! The LEC has asked if the Magix can be configured with a 2nd D channel on the for the PRI. I don't think so, but I'm not sure. Any input?

merlin legend/magix can accomoate three ds1 trunks. each must have its own d channel

Why would they want 2 D-Channels for 1 PRI? Or do you mean they have 2 PRI's and want 1 D-Channel to handle both. The system isn't going to accommodate that either way.

I believe they want to trunk the PRI in a way that would emulate 2 PRIs? That's the only thing that I can imagine.... what they asked is..
"Can your PBX be configured with a a 2nd D channel on the PRI to support signaling for the 2nd trunk group. If so, then we can assign a number to the 2nd trunk group."

Thanks everyone. I didn't think so but I thought that I'd run it past the experts first! Have a good one!
