Out of virtual memory - LOCK UP

I am using Autocad LT 2002 on an XP Pro system with 256 RAM. I have been frequently getting a screen freeze with a message stating that I am out of Virtual Memory. Of course to follow I get the fatal error.
I've tried to cold boot, modify virtual memory allocations to 1000, and have searched for updated drivers. I'm at a loss on this one, so any help would be fantastic.

we had the same problem
The way round is to increase your ram from 256mb to 512 or 1Gb. As 256mb ram on an XP computer is too small for cad work
