Hi list,
This question is not regarding asp, but i don't know whom to ask to and i really need your help.

We are renting a sql server version 7.0 from a web-hosting company.
We are using proxy server(NT server) and a modem to connect to outside our LAN. We
are also using Wingate software as the network point.
I tried to access to the database server using SQL Enterprise Manager, but i can't. (I installed sql-server 7.0 in my windows 98 - desktop version for testing purpose)

I also cannot ping to the server. This means i (guess) have to do some changes at my firewalls setting in the wingate. My hardware staff allready left our company, so none of us knows about this firewall settings. What i want to do is, let one of my pc have the direct access to the server with/without using proxy server. Can you all please guide me how to solve this problem.

Really need help urgently,

Thanks
rgds,

Not really but there are other forums on here at the home page that probably can.
sorry

i would not have opted to use Wingate, as Microsoft Proxy appears to be a little more friendly for this...

Recommendation: Switch to Microsoft Proxy as your Network Point... install Microsoft Proxy Client on the internal clients... you should be able to configure the client to go through the proxy properly...

but... i would definitely ask on another forum... Shane
and now for the impressive abbreviations:
DOA, SOL, AWOL, PEBKAC, id10t, FUBAR
