Out Of Office R4

A number of our users didn't set up their out of office correctly and chose 'local' rather than their mail server, also, we moved mail servers and in some cases , the OOO agent is still pointing to the old server.

Is there any way I can change the run location for all our users without having to go in and check each one individually ? IE, can I create a hotspot button with a formula or script to change the location, which I can email round ?

Hi,

You can start with replacing the design of their databases with a template that has the agent running on the correct server.

However: normally this is always the home/mail server as defined in the location document. (The agent is set to "Any server&quot.

If you send a button in a message that opens the Personal Address book, and then loop through all Location documents to modify the server fields your problem will be fixed.

Tip:
Do not let users click a button, but execute the code as soon as they open the memo, otherwise half of them will not click them (I have found that if you put the label "Do NOT click on this button" on a button almost everyone clicks on it!)

There are also many administration tools on the market that can do this and many other remote administration things. I once created a tool like this for a previous employer.

The full source code for such a solution would go beyond the scope of this forum and against my business interest however;-)
