I have Exchange 2010 installed and working both for internal and external users.

The only issue I still have is with external users and Out of Office assistance.

The Out of Offices assistant works for in house users and from the Web interface OWA.

I think I know what the problem is, but don't know how to solve it.

I have and email address name@sitea.com and can setup Outlook using Exchange proxy settings Pointing to altsiteb.com

I can enter in a web browser and it will return the xml page.

I believe the problem is that Out of Office uses the autodiscover function to find the Out of Office site to access, using the site1.com of the email address.

Is there way to force Outlook to use altsiteb.com to access the OOF function.

The error on the server is
"The automatic reply settings cannot display because the server is currently unavailable. Try again latter"

I am having the same problem but for internal domain users, though it works through OWA. I've followed numerous snippets of advice in forums but it's still not working. Sorry I can't help with your problem, but would you have any advice for mine seeing as yours is working please?

I’m new to exchange but I will try. Can you post the error you are getting?

jlh1 - when an internal domain user tries to access the Out of Office Assistant from Outlook 2007 it tells them that the server is not currently available. We do not have any external users.
