I have a 500mhz Dell latitude laptop with 256K Ram and a 75mhz Dell Tower with only 128K Ram. When I open an Access database to edit an event procedure on the laptop I get a Microsoft Visual Basic out of memory message and the database locks-up. I don't get this message when attempting the same procedure on the same database on the 75mhz machine. As the database runs painfully slow on the 75mhz machine however it is a hassle doing any programming on it.

Is their something I can reset or look for on the laptop to rectify this out of memory situatuion.

Thanks in advance.

You should probably run this post in the Microsoft Access forum. I remember getting these "Out of Memory" errors occasionally too.

Since you mentioned programming, I'm assuming you wrote a program in Access. You may have something looping in your programming causing memory errors.

As well, try repairing and compacting your database, it may have ballooned to some absurd size.

Finally, it wouldn't hurt to completely reinstall Microsoft Office and all the Service Packs.

you can also look if you're out of virtual memory,
wich can be configured in the properties of your "my computer" icon. Office suite applications often need more
of it...between 300 and 500 megs is usually more than
enough.
